Malhavoc Press Gives Fans Free Update to The Book of Eldritch Might

FREE Patch Upgrades Your PDF

Illus. Brian LeBlancNovember 21, 2002 (Renton, Wash.) -- On the heels of last week's successful electronic release of Book of Eldritch Might III: The Nexus, Monte Cook's d20 imprint has issued a free patch that upgrades the first book in the popular series.

"We're celebrating here at Malhavoc Press," Monte said. "This is our free gift to our customers, to thank them for supporting us and making The Book of Eldritch Might such a success."

The free patch applies all the following upgrades to previously purchased electronic copies of The Book of Eldritch Might:

  • Re-edited text given a fresh look though the company's new streamlined and printer-friendly layout style
  • A redesigned cover to mirror the recent Malhavoc Press product line
  • Inclusion of Brian LeBlanc's illustrations, created for the print version, along with much of the original PDF's artwork by The Unseelie Court
  • The addition of Eldritch Might material from Monte Cook's website: the spell lists and random rune generator already featured in the print edition

These upgrades bring the book up to 48 pages. The 3 MB free patch is available as a ZIP file exclusively through www.RPGNow.com.

"We've done patches for our PDFs before, to correct a few minor errors or to take advantage of new electronic features like bookmarks," Monte explained. "But this is a really big deal -- it feels like a whole new book!" The update brings the book's electronic version in line with the contents of the print version and with the product line's current look; any new material in it is already available in the print version.

To take advantage of this free patch offer, visit the patch's page at RPGNow and follow the instructions there. The patch requires that you have the Windows operating system -- and a previously purchased copy of The Book of Eldritch Might PDF, of course.

Those who purchase the book's electronic edition starting November 21, 2002, will be buying the updated version and do not need the patch. The sale price for the updated 48-page Book of Eldritch Might electronic edition is $6. Find out more at the book's product page.

The Book of Eldritch Might, Malhavoc Press' first product, was released May 25, 2001, and has sold more than 14,000 copies to date, in electronic and print editions. The book also won three 2001 EN World d20 System Awards for excellence, voted on by the fans.
