The 2001 EN World Awards
Malhavoc Press Snags Four Nominations in New d20 Competition
7/21/01
Monte Cook and The Book of Eldritch Might were honored yesterday as nominees for four EN World d20 System Awards, a new competition designed to recognize quality and excellence among today's licensed d20 products and publishers.
The Book of Eldritch Might, Monte Cook's premiere title under his Malhavoc Press imprint, was nominated for Best Rulebook or Accessory. Monte was nominated as Best Writer for his work on the product, and the book's editor, Sue Weinlein Cook, was among the Best Editor nominees. In addition, Monte's website is nominated for the Best Official Website award. A full list of "ENnie" nominees appears below.
"It's a real honor to be nominated for the ENnie Awards," Monte said. "I feel like we're in good company -- I really like many of the other nominees. It's also overwhelming, in a nice way, considering that we came up with the idea for Malhavoc Press only a few months ago! I'm just sorry to see that some publishers chose not to participate, because the ENnies are a really cool idea."
Voting for the winners in each category is open to everyone; the online polls close July 27. Vote now for your favorites or read more about the awards first. The ENnies will be presented in an online ceremony July 29 at 3:30 p.m. (Central time) at EN World's site.
The awards are organized by EN World -- a website offering guides, resources, and settings for d20 System gaming -- in association with Eric Noah 's Unofficial Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition News.
